Meet The Team

Megan Riveros, DVM

Dr. Megan Riveros completed her undergraduate degree in Animal Science at Colorado State. She then attended Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech where she completed her doctorate degree in veterinary medicine. Since she has been in the Grand Valley she has worked in general practice and emergency medicine. She is excited to expand after-hours care to pet owners and their pets in Mesa County and the surrounding areas. Dr. Riveros is excited to work as extension of Monument View Veterinary Hospital general practice and looks forward to serving as a partner in your pet’s health. 

Her professional interests include surgery, emergency medicine, and food animal medicine. She shares her home with her husband and five rambunctious dogs. When not at work she enjoys playing tennis and reading a good book.

 

 


Miranda Schroeder, RVT

Practice Manager and Owner

Our Practice Manager Miranda has been in the veterinary industry since 2010. She graduated with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology from Penn Foster College in 2014. Her passion for animals and helping people who love animals drew her to veterinary medicine after working in the construction industry as a heavy equipment operator. Being a part owner of Monument View Veterinary Hospital is literally a dream come true for Miranda. She is excited to add Veterinary Emergency at Monument View as a means to be more available to clients and their pets.  When she isn't working, Miranda enjoys spending time with her amazing and supportive husband. Together they enjoy traveling, scuba diving, snowmobiling, dirt biking and spending time with their family and pets. Miranda’s furry family members include two Pit Bulls - Skylee and Stallone, a Blue Heeler named Sydney, a French Bulldog named Squishy, and two horses, Jewel and Bonita.



Kaycee , RVT

Registered Veterinary Technician and Project Manager

Kaycee has been working in the veterinary field since August 2008, becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician in March 2023. She has always had a passion for animals, initially working at PetSmart in the Pet Care section, prior to going into the veterinary field. During her time at PetSmart, she cared for the fish, birds, reptiles, and small animals (rodents). Since starting her work in the veterinary field, she has worked at both a general practice and an emergency practice. During her work at the emergency practice, she developed a passion for emergency surgery and ICU patient nursing care. She will also soon be a certified RECOVER BLS/ALS CPR Rescuer. 

When she is not at work, she enjoys doing many activities with her family. Such as: playing board games and/or video games, going to the movies (or just watching them at home), and going to amusement parks. Her family consists of her loving husband, and her 6 children (5 boys and 1 girl). Her pet family includes a 5 year old Irish Wolfhound/Great Dane mix – Pyper, a 3 year old Borzoi – Rowyn, two cats – Dejah and Banshee, and 12 chickens.


Sherissa

Veterinary Team Member

Sherissa has been working as a small animal emergency veterinary technician since 2018 and enjoys helping animals when they need it most. Her passion for animals started at a young age, showing lambs in 4-H and FFA. Since then, she has remained involved with 4-H, continued to raise club lambs, and began raising show goats and show calves with her husband and 4 daughters. She spend her time taking care of her farm, working in her garden, playing with her 3 dogs, homeschooling her children, and going to livestock shows. Sherissa has been with Veterinary Emergency at Monument View since the start.


Jazmine

Veterinary Team Member

Jazmine is a native to the Grand Valley. She grew up on a small farm in Palisade where she found her passion in working with all animals large and small. She has worked in general mixed practice for 6 years, but recently found her love for emergency medicine which she has 2 years of experience. Her focus is patient care, but also giving owners a peace of mind in a stressful emergent situation. She is very excited for the opportunity at Monument View to grow her passion and experience in emergency medicine. Outside of work, her world revolves around her son. Who is a animal lover just like his mom. They have two dogs and a cat, Paisley - red heeler, Maggie- mixed breed, and Spook the kitty. They all love to explore the outdoors, hiking, camping, fishing, and swimming.


Shaylin

Veterinary Team Member

Shay is originally from San Antonio, Texas but moved here in 2011 to attend Colorado Mesa University and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. She has previous experience in large animal care though 4H and FFA, but started her career in vet med for companion animals about 4 years ago. In her free time, she enjoys camping and hiking with her two pit bulls, Willow and Akira, mountain biking, snowboarding or anything the gets her active and outside. She also works hard at trying to keep her salsa garden alive. 



Panagiotis "Takis"

Veterinary Team Member and Veterinary Student

Hailing from both the Grand Valley and Greece, Taki grew up taking care of animals. After studying Animal Sciences and Aquaculture at the Agricultural University of Athens, he enrolled in the Veterinary Medicine program, with a specialty in small animal medicine at the Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine in Vitebsk, Belarus and is scheduled to graduate in the summer of 2024.

While not in school, Taki has worked in veterinary practices both in Greece and the US, and is thrilled to work and learn with both Monument View Veterinary Hospital, and Veterinary Emergency at Monument View.

When not working, you can usually find Taki hunting, playing music, fishing or writing. His English Setter Droopy is his pride and joy, along with his family's two rescue cats Ninja and Jellybean, and rescue dog, Maggie in Greece.


Kali

Client Care Coordinator and Veterinary Assistant

Kali is a Grand Valley local who grew up just outside of Grand Junction. She was raised on a farm, and that led her to her passion for veterinary medicine. She joined the Veterinary Emergency team in 2022. Her voice is typically the first one clients hear when they have an emergency and call Veterinary Emergency at Monument View. Kali has many pets of her own, Jonesie is her puppy, and she has 4 horses and one donkey. She is eager to further her skills in the veterinary field. 


Ashley

Veterinary Team Member

Ashley was born and raised in Roswell, NM with a love for  animals. She attended college to become a nurse, but quickly realized her passion was in Veterinary Medicine. She has been in the medical field since 2014, and she loves working with exotic animals and wildlife. She spends her time outside of work with her son, her 2 dogs, and her kitty. She loves exploring the mountains on hikes, and when its warm out, you can always find her in the water.
